A few months ago, I went into my local Sprouts to buy a new moisturizer.  I was debating on getting another bottle of Aubrey Calming Skin Therapy moisturizer.  A lady approached me and asked if she could help me find anything.  I told her I was looking for a good moisturizer and she pointed out the Acure Organics brand and asked if I had ever tried it.  I told her I hadn’t and then I started to read the label.

Acure Shampoo Features

Acure had me at  free from: “no animal testing, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, harmful preservatives and artificial colors”.  I mean what’s not to love there?!  Hello!  This was something my sensitive skin and I could handle right there!  I went on to find that they have a WHOLE line of beauty products.  This is when I discovered the Acure Shampoo and Conditioner that I am reviewing today!

Did I mention that most of Acure’s products contain argan oil?!  Argan oil is incredibly rich in Vitamin E, Essential Fatty Acids, and Proteins.  It is also referred to as a skin SUPERFOOD!  This adds another level onto it’s awesome-ness!

So, I marched out of Sprouts with not only a new moisturizer, but new shampoo and conditioner (It was about time to buy more anyway)! To that Sprouts’ employee….Thank you!  I am in love with this brand!

Acure Shampoo Practical Details

I have gotten pretty picky about what I put on my body.  If the term paraben shows up anywhere in the ingredients, it is back on the shelf. PERIOD!  When I was perusing the ingredients on the Acure Shampoo packaging, I got my phone out and went to my EWG Skin Deep app (click here for more info) to see how it ranked.  It got a 1 ranking, which is about as perfect as it can be!  

EWG does show some concern over two of the ingredients, but these only score a 3, which is still within my range of what I am willing to use.

I really liked how this product worked on my hair.  I have fine, thin hair that needs washing daily.  If I don’t, it gets pretty oily looking.  What I was seeing with some of the conventional shampoos was that my hair would look greasy even after I had just washed it.  I hadn’t changed anything and couldn’t figure out what the deal was.  When I started using Acure Shampoo and Conditioner, I noticed an immediate difference!  If I want to, I can usually go an extra day without washing my hair and it not be greasy-looking.  

If you are looking for a 100% Organic solution, this would not be the shampoo and conditioner for you.  Although many of the ingredients are organic, not all of them are. 

Some may see the price as a con, but really I feel like you get what you pay for.  Sure you can buy a cheaper brand at Wal-mart, but it is most likely going to contain a lot of nasty added chemicals that do not belong on your body.
